Polar Bear Information
They are cute, cuddly and absolutely vulnerable. Polar bears capture the admiration and attention of folks the world over for their fluffy bright coats and huggable size. They garner honor from animal fans for their searching ability and survival strategies in one of the harshest atmospheres on Earth. However in spite of their frustrating attraction these giants are actually in risk of being wiped off Planet completely.
Ice melting should be actually a primary focus of conservation efforts for the polar bear as this is impacting the polar bear the most. Polar bears rely on substantial blocks of drifting ice to do their day-to-day actions related to staying alive. Polar breeds prey on fat-laden seals from these stops of ice, they mate, and some also deliver their cubs on them. The trouble by having the ice melting is that numerous polar bears have actually gone hungry because there is actually not ample ice for them to hunt their prey. This impacts their capability to reproduce as well as bring their cubs to term that immediately impacts human population amounts. Additionally, when ice is likewise far from land, polar bears will wipe out trying to swim far distances to locate them. All of these factors have actually made the polar bear more land bound.
When polar bears are on land they are more very likely to pertain face-to-face by having a predator, people. Sometimes people hunt polar bears as trophies and more folks eradicate polar bears while defending themselves. Individuals additional impact polar bears when companies build facilities in their natural atmosphere, therefore modifying it irrevocably.
Intercession in the form of authorities authorities to lower human influence has been highlighted as a main concern in America as well as other countries. In addition, individual providers as well as interest groups go on to lobby as well as function with the government to guard this beneficial pet in its natural environment. Apart from government interference, more investigation relating to international warming is critical so that the climate alteration may be stopped or reversed. There are actually agencies that are raising money for this remarkably function. An additional method communities are actually aiding the polar bear is to use competent bear patrol agents to keep the land bound polar bears from people as well as to make certain that the bears are actually not competing also passionately by having the folks for the food sources on land.

The polar bears are suffering from habitat loss due to global warming/climate change. If we are down to the last 10 then Manhattan is probably under water as are many other cities, towns and in some cases countries, so millions of people are being relocated or are dying due to unacceptable living conditions. So in efforts to save the Bears – we would truly be working to save HUMANITY as we know it. There is no comparison to the abortion issue. WE are not an endangered species.
a couple of dollars for a starbucks
the polar bears.
Babies and that is an easy question to answer. You can always self abort yourself and all your troubles would be over. I find it funny how people who are alive are in favor if abortion. Suicide is legal so what is stopping you?
I don’t have need for polar bears.
WHAT WILL YOU DO TO HELP THE POLAR BEARS ? SAVE A POLAR BEARS LIFE. Polar Bear is considered a potentially threatened species. That means it would be very easy for the species to become endangered. There are currently between 22,000 and 27,000 Polar Bears in the world. What have Polar bears done to us ? The Least we can do is Cut out littering from our evryday lifes, walk a little bit and quit polluting our oceans and Great waters. Without dramatic cutbacks in global warming pollution, Alaska’s polar bears could face extinction by 2050. YOU COULD CHANGE THAT ! If you Would Like to Help, Check out this website and Send in A Donation Today. You Could be saving a life. http://www.nrdconline.org/campaign/Grant_the_Polar_Bear_Full_Protection Dont Hesitate to Help. Tell Your Freinds. Do what you can before its too Late ! PLEASE HELP TO SAVE THE POLAR BEARS ! AND REMEMBER ; REDUCE , RE-USE, RECYLCE !
im gonna spend oll my momey on air conditioners and put them all in the artic!
nothing, it’s hard enough just paying my regular bills.
I’d try and donate, I don’t have much money, but probably 5 dollars?? Hope that is enough?
I now regret not purchasing that “Polar Bears for Obama” shirt that I saw the other day.
I will try to make their deaths quick and painless..
no, we should always try and keep our animals alive. and they’re so cute, too
why would anyone support it? i mean u cant prevent it rly its inevitable but its not like im gonna go hunt them or something i think theyre cute and cool but everything will be extinct someday
no i think its great that we have mammals that live in the artic regions of our world. and besides it adds to the diversity of our beautiful world.
What are the causes of polar bears getting closer to extinction? Why is it important to understant the issue? I am doing a ecology project in my biology class. We chose a conservation issue to focus on and we are to create a flyer on our issue and present it in front of the class. I am going to choose the topic about polar bears nearing extinction. Any input will help. Thanks!
I know for a fact one reason for their current condition is due to them drowning. With the decline of the polar ice caps many polar bears swim out and they do not have a place to catch their breath. The melting of the ice caps is proportional to the decline in the polar bear habitat.
Cause: global warming and the shrinking of the ice caps Importance: increasing consequences of global warming, extinction of species, harmful effects of mankind on the planets, protecting our planet for future generations
I did a similar project in biology a couple years ago. There is a ton of information out there… What I found is that melting glaciers are creating greater distance between ice floes. Hence, polar bears have to swim greater distances from piece to piece. They get tired and drown. In 2005, I think, there were more than 70 found dead from drowning. Additionally, with warming temperatures, polar bears are moving into habitats they didn’t previously occupy, and leaving ones they did. People and polars don’t mix too well. Another issue is the entire food chain itself. All aspects of the environment are changing… too little food for this leads to too little food for that leads to hungry polar bears. Like I said, there’s a bunch of stuff out there – google! Good luck!
20. A…polar bears have few offspring. 17. D sounds like a good choice, because in ecology books they pretty much base it on the fact that all the organisms have a niche in the ecosystem, and if one disappears, the thing collapses. a simple example: grass < bunny < wolf < fungus and decomposers < (soil) < grass if one thing disappears, all the other things will find it very hard to survive
From http://www.bearplanet.org/global-warming-polar-bears.shtml ——————————————— “Global Warming effect has serious consequences for all living organisms, but it is of especially great concern for the polar bear. According to the U.S. Geological Survey Office, reduction in sea ice in the Arctic can see a loss of 2/3rds of the entire word?s Polar Bear population over the next 50 years. “
20. D, because global warming is eliminating polar bear habitat. Number of offspring is irrelevant if habitat goes. 17. I like B.
You don’t need diversity for food crops, nor recycling of raw materials, nor is it the same issue as global warming–in theory you could stop that by planting plenty of just a few tree species, while switching to nonfossil fuels. While it may be necessary for medicines, basically I think diversity should be maintained for its own sake. The world wouldn’t be as interesting without a lot of cool exotic species like rhinos, crocs, sharks etc.
Basically nothing will happen(except what you said(the seal population may not be able to be controlled by another predator)), but the thing is. There will be no more polar bears. You will never see one. They will be only known in the past. Only pictures will be around to represent them. Its like losing a parent when you are a baby. You wish you could know/see them, but you have to just rely on stories and pictures(though, today there are videos, but you get my point). This is why people don’t want polar bears to go extinct. Also it would be another example of us destroying thousands of creatures just so we have an easier time.
Well if the polar bears disappear, then of course the seal populations will go up. Then the seals will eat more fish etc etc etc….I don’t think the changes would be drastic, but I’d hate to see a large mammal go to extinction.
…most likely…the problem is that we still don’t understand the complexity of linkages between animals within an ecosystem. Because of the intensly harsh climate and struggle for survival that it requires, the loss of a large predator in the arctic may lead to other species losses. Like when sheep were introduced to hawaii and they eradicated a particular flower that happened to bloom during a 4-week spring period. During that spring period a particular butterfly larvae would dine exclusively on the foliage of said flower and a particular species of rare and very beautiful hawaiian bird adapted to the normal abundance of larvae and hatched its chicks during this 4-week period. Except when the flowers were gone, the larvae died out and so did the chicks. The bird went extinct because of sheep.
