A Folly Beach Family trip is No Blunder
One of the Folly Beach Rentals Oceanfront may be precisely what you need. In the event your schedule, work requirements and family responsibilities have recently been pushing you to the limit, then why not push back? Take a small escape to a spot known as the “Edge of America” and show everybody you are perfectly capable of hanging on tight when confronted with challenges and letting loose when you know it is time.
Folly Beach, South Carolina can take you just far enough away from all of it to relax and wind down, so consider making your way to this alluring destination when you’re ready to view things from a different standpoint entirely.Folly Beach has a funny name for being such a safe bet. It is a barrier island that runs for around seven miles, and it’s located a comfortable eight miles away from colorful Charleston. The sand, sun and fun all amount to the makings of a great time, and combined with the rustic appeal and legendary southern hospitality of this region of the nation, it’s just a no-fail formula for vacation success.
A favorite surfing spot, the Washout, presents great waves for anyone willing to try their boarding expertise. You will easily notice the Edwin S. Taylor Fishing Pier because it extends plainly into the ocean and gathers together the fun and frivolity that piers are notable for. Most visitors to Folly Beach County Park have the practice of frolicking right down to an art, as this place allows you to lose yourself and become a child again. From the umbrella rentals to the picnic areas, both you and your family and friends will likely be all set to enjoy a properly laughter-filled day on the beach.
Several restaurants are available for satisfying and in many cases defying expectations about what constitutes a good dinner. Seafood is abundant, as you might imagine, but everyone should find a little something to love – and eat. The evening can continue as long as you want as you meander down the street and select from various happenin’ patios to watch the setting sun or the men and women. End everything with a stroll on the beach, romance-novel style, and tell that special someone just how you feel.
Galleries, local creators and a phenomenon referred to as Bluegrass Jam will demonstrate the artistic depth of Folly Beach’s locals, so don’t neglect your cultural side as make your way about. Dancers are welcomed to cut a rug with members of the Islanders Shag Club. For the inexperienced, the shag is South Carolina’s state dance and it’s alive and well; instruction is offered once a week and most other evenings are a free-for-all of shagginess.
The final thing that needs to be mentioned is the Morris Island Lighthouse. Erosion of the beach front has caused this towering landmark to be surrounded by ocean, but the actions of involved citizens have helped it to be shielded from further wear and tear thanks to an underground steel wall structure. Enjoy this special sight and the spirit of the thoughtful community that is reflected upon it.
Now that you see a trip to Folly Beach would not be a blunder, it’s time to take into consideration places to stay. The best complement to a laid-back beachfront trip is a unique accommodation that will inspire peace of mind to thrive for you and all your companions; a spot that will meet everybody’s needs and provides convenience too. Look into getting one of the Folly Beach Rentals Oceanfront that strikes your fancy – it won’t be very hard.
Your trip to the edge will be an exciting one, and the tales you return with will probably motivate a few other vacationers to stray from the mainstream and check out life as it is viewed from the brink of normalcy.
What are some indoor activities for adults on a family beach vacation or things to surprise grandma with? Grandma is paying for this vacation and last year she did the same thing. She is paying 10,000 dollars a week for the family to stay in this beach front home in Myrtle beach. It does not have to be all indoors, but we want it to be creative if it is indoors. Please let me know some ideas you might have. Thanks
Myrtle Beach has Medieval Times there. It’s a place where you eat dinner at tables with your group while watching a play/performance.
Looking for a remote beach vacation spot on Eastern seaboard.? I’d like to go on vacation in early September with my girlfriend and we’re looking for a good beach. I like remote beaches, nothing like Myrtle or beaches that are packed with party people or families. Im looking for something from the Outer Banks all the way down to NORTHERN South Carolina. We’re college students so we’re not rich, so please no beaches lined with private beach houses. Any ideas or recommendations?
The Outer Banks is good, it’s nowhere as crowded as other beaches can get, there are tons of motel/cottage options up and down the coast, there is too much information to share here. Visit the main Outer Banks information website to begin getting details. – http://www.outerbanks.org/
OK the northern Outer Banks is good but why not go whole hog and do Ocracoke. You can only get there by ferry, it’s still warm, the water is warm – like summer, most of the tourists are gone.
Take your bike or rent one for your stay and leave up your car parked. Check out http://www.tripadvisor.com. You should be able to get some good rates after Labor Day. Yeah, you would like Ocracoke. It’s unique in the ways you are looking for. BTW – if you cross from Hatteras Village the ferry is FREE!
What is a good Family Vacation Beach in Florida? My family is wanting to take a vacation to Florida and don’t know where to go. We want a good beach with reasonable motel rates. A good place for a family. Don’t want a party spot. Help Please
you may try sarasota area or the anna maria island area. they are nice. crystal blue water and white sand. mostly just old people there so they are quiet and dont usually bother you unless you mess with them. during spring break the traffic can get crazy but other than that is good. Siesta key is a favorite park of mine. very large, clean and has large picnic area. it gets crowded sometimes right up next to the entrance but if you walk a bit or get there a bit early you can spead out and choose a nice space to claim. i recommend it
Take a look at New Smyrna Beach, just south of Daytona Beach. It’s close enough to Disney, Universal or even St. Augustine if you wanted to go there, but far enough way from the “party spots”. We’ve been going there for 19 years and stay at the Sunrise Condos and love it. But, there are a ton of hotels and other spots as well to stay at.
what are good north Carolina beach vacation spots? i went to south Carolina and went to myrtle beach and it was amazing so im looking for a beach vacation spot in north Carolina similar to myrtle beach. HELPPP lol
Carolina Beach, NC
Carolina Beach, North Carolina Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina
I live on the east coast. Ocean city maryland is a reallyfun beach, a board walk with rides and cool shops and good food, the beach of course. I’ll be there saturday actually haha. Its a fun place. Myrtle beach is also alot of fun, i was just there 2 weeks ago.
Head inland. Come to Traverse City, Michigan. Or for that matter, anywhere along the west side of the state’s Lower Peninsula. We have golf courses, vineyards, apple and cherry orchards, the Interlochen Center for the Arts (www.interlochen.org), the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore; and in the first week of July, the National Cherry Festival.
Check out the Outer Banks (OBX) or Myrtle Beach area. Personally I love going to Hilton Head, NC it’s a great beach town and there are great places to golf. My family and I go down every year. It’s def one of those places where you can bring your family and not worry about the party scene. Just some nice r & r.
Fort walton beach , Fl Its on the gulf side of Florida…Its amazing
Which beach destination is better for a romantic vacation — SC or FL beaches? My fiance is returning from Afghanistan soon and we’d like to take a beach vacation. What beaches are better — SC or FL? We aren’t huge partiers, but would like a beach with fun activities. So far I’ve been focusing on Folly Beach/Charleston area of SC or Panama City Beach or Siesta Key in Florida. Pros/cons of either? Thanks!
Florida beaches are better, but stay away from Clearwater and St. Pete beaches simply because they’re too crowded. A little north or south and it’s perfect. Siesta Key is better than Panama in my opinion.
